Enjoy lake views from the main living space as well as from the fully finished basement, from the large deck and covered patio and from the lawn-carpeted backyard. The house sleeps 6 comfortably in beds (3 queen beds) but depending upon the circumstances, the Owners might accept more than 6, at an additional cost. A request for extra guests can be made in your inquiry. Cook up a storm in the fully-stocked updated kitchen or barbeque on the spacious deck. There is plenty of off-street parking in front of the garage and in the driveway. A private boat launch and sandy beach are conveniently located approximately 1 mile from the house. The lake bottom at our shore is mud and some rocks. There are plenty of stores and restaurants only 10 minutes away. We are lucky also to have good cell phone coverage on this part of the lake - which is not true in some other areas. Dogs are allowed with prior approval at an additional fee. Please discuss issues related to dogs immediately upon booking. The Great Sacandaga is a manmade lake built to control the level of the Hudson River; the water level is purposely controlled and it can fluctuate greatly from one time of year to another. The high level is in the spring and usually, sometime in August, the level starts dropping. It can be different from year to year. Also, our cove is not deep water - the depth increases gradually from the shoreline. This is good for swimming (especially if there are small children in your group) or kayaking or canoeing or even jet skis. To accommodate larger boats, however, docks regularly need to to be monitored and often moved as the water level fluctuates. Because we are not at the house to do that, we do not offer a dock with the house. Any docks, rafts or buoys seen from the house are not ours and are not available for our guests. However, there is that great boat launch only 1 mile from the house!

Our home is the upper level of a 2 family house located an hour northwest of Albany on beautiful Great Sacandaga Lake. It is nestled into the side of a wooded hill. The hilly terrain allows both levels to have their own on-grade entrances. The 80' beach area is directly across the road from the driveway entrance and opposite a NYS public boat launch site, which is just a few hundred yards across the water. The waterfront includes a fireplace, dock, & picnic table. You will especially appreciate the spacious layout and fully furnished kitchen. I enjoy the calming view of the woods from the dining room table. The family will have plenty of room to sleep. The three bedrooms have 2 queen and 2 single beds, plus there are 2 cots available or space on one of the couches for the kids. Our home has two full baths and a laundry room. The Master bath includes a great whirlpool soaker tub. Enjoy a game of 8-ball on the family room pool table or warm up in the cooler months in front of the living room fireplace. In warm months, you will really like the large patio complete with a picnic table, grill, and fire pit. While there may be other guests downstairs during your stay, your living space is completely private and separate. The beach, dock, and lakeside picnic areas, however, are shared. You are welcome to tie up your boat or personal water craft at the dock. If you are looking for some world class experiences, we are located about 40 miles from Saratoga. Lake Sacandaga has less than half the boat traffic than neighboring Lake George. This makes it very safe for swimming off boats, water skiing, tubing, kayaking and paddle boarding. If you are considering bringing bicycles the road out in front of the house has a great relatively quiet and safe 5 mile loop. Abundant winter activities for the winter months! There are window airconditioners in the main living area and the two master bedrooms. The bunkroom will be airconditioned by summer 2019. Our basement has a semi-finished game room with pool/ping pong table, foosball, darts, air hockey, board games and tv. There is a washer and dryer. It sits on over an acre of wooded land with a flat lawn area. We have equipment for badminton, horseshoes, cornhole, spikeball, and croquet available for your use. Our deck overlooks the lawn with a view of our private beach and the lake. There is a large picnic table, chairs, fire pit, and outdoor speakers. We have a propane Weber grill, charcoal Weber grill and a propane smoker available for your use. There is wifi, Roku, Sling TV, Hulu, major stations via digital antenna and a stereo with speakers in the living area, deck and basement. The property is the restored FJ&G railroad station in the former Sacandaga Park resort. The Station is located in a wooded setting at the end of a 600ft private road. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The summer rental includes a boat slip at our docks, a kayak, a small sail boat, use of the on-site tennis/pickle ball courts and guest privileges at Sacandaga Park Beach. The Great Sacandaga Lake is beautiful and uncrowded. It offers great sailing, power boating and fishing opportunities. A 9-hole golf course, lake side restaurants and the village of Northville are all within walking or biking reach. Northville retains the character of a small rural Adirondack village with authentic architectual styles. Wonderful cross-country skiing (Lapland Lake), downhill skiing (Gore Mountain) and snow mobiling (Great Sacandaga Lake and Adirondack Park trails) are found nearby during the winter. There is ample opportunity for walking and safe biking for small children right around the Station and in Sacandaga Park. The building is all one floor, handicap accessible, comfortable layout, tree-shaded and surrounded by a spacious porch. Sacandaga Park: The hamlet of Sacandaga Park is across the Sacandaga River from the Village of Northville. It is in the Town of Northampton. Sacandaga Park retains the atmosphere of the famous cottage community that was once operated here by the FJ&G railroad. The old hotels and Broadway level entertainment are gone but the golf course, many original cottages, the Station, the giant white pines and the relaxed pedestrian life style are still there. The roads are narrow and tree-lined. Summer is the busy season with people lounging on their porches, summer events, boating and water sports. The fall is beautiful with great fall colors in the Park and the surrounding wooded areas. In the winter, Sacandaga Park is a great pied-a-terre for ski excursions and exploring the lake and wooded trails on a snow mobile or cross-country skis. The permanent population of the Park is rising and most restaurants remain open through the winter months. The Station: The Station was built in 1920 near the peak of the “amusement park period” of Sacandaga Park. For many years after the railroad disappeared and the crowds stopped coming, it continued to play a central role in the life of the Sacandaga Park community. The Station was saved in 2002 from “destruction by neglect”. It has undergone an extensive restoration that retains its outward appearance while finding an adaptive re-use for the interior that does justice to the building’s historic significance. On March 7, 2004 the Sacandaga Station was placed on the US National Register of Historic Places. The large roof overhangs and surrounding tall trees create a wonderful lounging area during summer when it is hot or rainy. It is also convenient and cozy during the winter when heavy snow builds up around the building and you can ski out of the front door. The former baggage room is available for general storage of recreational equipment. More historic information is on the Station web site. Great Sacandaga Lake: The Great Sacandaga Lake was created in 1930 with the closing of the gates on the Conklingville dam in the Sacandaga River. The Sacandaga is one of the main tributaries to the Hudson River. The lake is large (29 miles long), surrounded by hills. The lake edges are protected from development by a NYS regulatory agency. The water quality is high because of the annual snow melt and high precipitation levels farther north in the Adirondack mountains. There are several marinas and commercial dock facilities. Sailing is rapidly becoming a popular water sport. Kayaking on the lake and up the river is common. The lake is uncrowded especially during the week. There are wonderful lakeside restaurants with docking facilities within 20 minutes by motor boat from Sacandaga. The fishing is good in all seasons and 36 inch northerns are caught regularly. The lake has a number of islands; their white sandy beaches become exposed later in the summer when the water goes down from early spring flood level
